More than 850 customers from all over the world gathered for the first Endress+Hauser Global Forum in Basel, Switzerland, from 26 to 28 June 2023. They discussed the question of how the sustainable transformation of the process industry can succeed. Renowned experts gave the participants food for thought with their presentations.
The process industry, a key player in the value chain, has major responsibility for the transformation to a sustainable and low-carbon future. The Global Forum highlighted topics such as decarbonization, energy transition, circular economy, resource and energy efficiency from an expert and user perspective. In so-called Inspiring Sessions, renowned speakers addressed challenges and opportunities:
Carbon footprint expert Mike Berners-Lee spoke about what is needed to ensure the survival of humanity.
Gauri Singh, deputy director-general of the International Agency for Renewable Energies (IRENA), addressed sustainable energy supply.
Scientist Julia Binder discussed approaches to a circular economy.
Adventurer and psychiatrist Bertrand Piccard focused on resource and energy efficiency.
America’s Cup winner Dominik Neidhart talked about the potential of partnerships.
Endress+Hauser celebrated the Group’s 70th anniversary with the Global Forum. The family-owned company follows a long-term strategy that combines economic success with environmental and social responsibility. “The process industry has the potential to be a driving force for positive change through its efforts in the areas of energy transition, sustainability and resource consumption,” CEO Matthias Altendorf is convinced.
